Future, baby.

I’m a fan of roots, reggae and African influenced music and have come to really enjoy a Florida band, The Hip Abduction. My wife and I have seen them several times in Brooklyn and twice in our new hometown of Asheville, NC. Super great beats and smooth vocals with playful guitar riffs that make you want to grab a Red Stripe and jump in the ocean. Their newest record is called To the Ends of The Earth and, to me is their best to date. The song ALL ABOUT THE FUTURE, BABY has a chill groove and is worth a listen. Underlying the record’s fun, however, is a rebellious tone. Songs like RISE UP and WARRIOR are sending a message that is very much on trend with the self-motivation and taking-control among the Gen Z cohort. Expect more music and lyrics to tap into this stirring of spirits.

“The revolution comes from the ground as it rises to the top, kings with no crown.”

— Rise Up

“I’ve heard what they have to say, ‘there’s no reason for a change, there are rules you have to play, but I’m a liar’ — fuck the game!”

— Warrior
